Max Wright
Max Wright performed as Dick Stetmeyer and is now best known for his role as the father in the 80s sitcom Alf. He was also a regular on WKRP in Cincinnati.
Born in Detroit, Michigan on August 2, 1943, the majority of Wright's career has been on stage, winning a Tony nomination for his role in Ivanov (performing with Kevin Kline). He graduated from Wayne State University Theatre Department in 1966 with a BA. He performed in the original production of The Great White Hope at The Arena Stage in Washington and was Sir Andrew in the Broadway production of Twelfth Night at the Lincoln Center.
In 1992, he won a Drama-logue award for his performance in What the Butler Saw with Kate Mulgrew at the La Jolla Playhouse. He starred in the role of Dr. Prentice.
Other credits include Grumpier Old Men, Snow Falling on Cedars, All That Jazz, Friends (reuniting with Courtney Cox), Mad About You, and Cheers.
