Theme
The theme song for Misfits starts off as an old time jazzy piano piece, and then cuts to an 80s, hard driving song. It was co-written by Steve Schiff, who was writing music for film and television at the time. He had been the lead guitarist in the band "1994" (which had broken up in 1980) and asked Karen Lawrence, who had been the vocalist for the band, to sing on the theme.
There is also a longer version of the theme available, with easier to understand lyrics. The full version lacks the piano intro, but is mixed more as a song rather than an overcompressed audiotrack designed for TV (remember, this was back when people had dinky little speakers in their big tube televisions!).
